The client required HF and Ergonomics support to evaluate a number of proposed HCI designs for a multi nation fighter aircraft upgrade programme.
I provide HF and Ergonomics input evaluating prototype cockpit display formats for a fighter aircraft. Assessments are carried out via discussions with the format designers and via user trials with overseas air-force pilots on purpose built test rigs/simulators.

The client required HF and Ergonomics advice supporting development and evaluation of proposed physical designs within a future Royal Navy Submarine.
I evaluated prototype designs of many compartments/areas on the submarine such as bunk areas, passageways, medical rooms, etc. using CAD mannequins and physical mock-ups. Many physical user trials, of varying size and complexity, were designed, run and reported.

The client required short term support to provide HF advice on conceptual designs for a modified HMI cockpit presentation of head up and head down symbology for an overseas customer’s military aircraft upgrade programme.
I provided HF advice on the usability of a number of prototype HMI display formats. Potential designs were assessed using VAPS, on development rigs and via discussion with UK and overseas test pilots.

The client required HF input to support development of a train cab for a UK based new concept train.
I provided HF and Ergonomics advice covering anthropometrics, secular growth, control type specification, cab layout definitions and design prototyping using CAD mannequins, foam-board and wooden mock-ups. I designed, carried out and reported on a number of physical ergonomic assessments to evaluate and fine tune the proposed designs of the new cab.
